Last stitch. Finally done with that scarf! Of course, I did not take any picture of it after I took it off the needle. I'm glad to be done with it & my cousin loved it so it's all good. Up next? More dishcloths for my aunt & grandma.

Now that it's warmer out I figure I should probably try to finish this scarf. (Please ignore the cat inflicted scratch on my hand). So I did finally switch to the new skein and though I didn't do it as soon as I would have liked to, you can barely tell.

See? You can't even tell. Just don't look at the backside.

!!!! I told you not to look! Well, it doesn't look so bad I suppose, but there was nothing I could do. I misjudged and came to the end of the line in the middle of a row. At least now I won't have to do anything like that for the rest of the scarf. Currently I'm at 450 rows, 58 inches long. I'm not sure how much longer I will make it. When I hold it up against one of mine I'd say maybe a foot longer, maybe 18 inches? I feel bad that it's taken this long, but I get tired of working on it. But I also told myself I wouldn't do anymore dish cloths until the scarf is done, which means it now feels way too late to try that snowman pattern, not to mention I think I have a shamrock pattern printed or bookmarked somewhere... I guess I could always bank some for later this year.

!!!!

. . .

JK! Today I test drove this PT Cruiser & got to drive it by myself! Thus, taking pictures. I think I have myself talked out of buying this "cruiser" aka "dodge neon with a fancy wrapper". We'll see what tomorrow brings! I don't want to say too much, but I think I have to wake up earlier than normal tomorrow! I don't know why I'm using exclamation marks! I can't stop! Buying a car is a big deal! Especially when you're looking down the barrel of a five year loan. I can't even think about the amount of money I'm "spending" because it gets me down.

I think also that I was too quick to talk about spring. Last week it was warm, and I didn't even fully enjoy it because I knew it wouldn't last, and low and behold, I woke up freezing on Monday morning. And I was looking at cars in the cold/drizzley rain. Today, Tuesday if you are looking at some sort of date stamp, it wasn't as cold, because the sun was out, but the highest temperature I saw on that PT Cruiser was in the low fifties. Thank goodness for the sun, but it's supposed to rain this weekend. Oh shoot, I need to find my most recent pay stub, in case I do end up signing away five years worth of cash money for a car. [My life is kinda a wreck right now; my desk is actually fairly clean! but that only makes it harder, because the pay stub would normally be right on top and I don't remember filing it away]. Sunset!

Soooooo... It rained all weekend. And possibly snowed a bit on Saturday, though I didn't really see any. It was kind of a bummer, but some flowers are definitely already coming up.

On Thursday I went to the Grog Shop in Cleveland to see Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. The show was pretty good, as it always is with Ted.

The song I posted above is called "One Polaroid A Day" and so far I think it's my favorite from the new album.

Oh & of course I hung around and got my CD signed. Duh. But I'm not good at talking about/reviewing shows. Ted Leo was great & the new album is pretty good too & here's another video for a song from it, which is called "Bottled in Cork":

I made cupcakes from scratch last night for the first time. I dyed some of them green. Just plain white. The icing was not handmade, but it was hand dyed blue (the pink was leftover Valentine's icing).

I have to say, they taste ok, but I do not like them. I did not even finish that green one. They were too dense. Some of the comments on the recipe I used said to add more milk, but I figured I'd try it by the book. Bad idea/good idea. At least now I know for next time. I really wanted to get those sugar letters so I could spell out "dad" but the "happy birthday" set was all they had in terms of birthday. Either way I think my dad liked them.

I don't have all sorts of photos yet, but it definitely feels like spring is here. I had to roll the windows down in my van (yes, no, I still have not purchased a car of my own yet). It's been in the high sixties and low seventies this week. Pretty nice.

Today I packed up the rest of the winter decorations, which, honestly, I meant to do last week but I just plain didn't feel like it. But that's taken care of, the minimal amount of Valentine's decorations are packed but not put up so I can put the St. Patrick's Day stuff in the same box, since I don't have much of either. Oh my! I just saw a snowflake jar I missed with cough drops in it.

Today I also rolled the second skein of yarn for this scarf (again, yes, still "working" on it) & now I have a slight cramp in my hand. I think I need to end my previous skein now because there is a tie in the yarn. I'm close enough to the end that I'm not wasting a ton of yarn (I'll use it for a pom-pom or something anyway, so not a waste at all) but I'm super nervous about switching over. I haven't done it in a long time. Ahhh!!! Hopefully I can work up the courage to just do it.

& Tonight I will be baby sitting my cousins. The girl just turned nine and I'm going to give her The Mouse and the Motorcycle and Ralph S. Mouse which I found at the Goodwill for only a quarter each I think. Hopefully she will like them. And hopefully she will not have already read them or own them. After I get home from baby sitting around midnight I get to make cupcakes for my dad, since his birthday is tomorrow. I'm thinking chocolate? But I don't know. Maybe I'll go to Jo-Ann's and look for some sugar letters or something I can put on the tops of them, even though no one wants to eat that sort of thing.

Last night I finally got all the star coins in the new super mario bros. I probably played the same level for an hour before I got that last one. It was insanely hard. It's really neat because, well, I feel a little bit accomplished, and more importantly, all the mushroom houses are now unlocked. And they don't go away after you play them. They're just always there.

I'm not sure how hidden cameras could exactly detect something as specific of tag switching. I visited a thrift store I had never been to before out in Massillon. I was out there to look at cars (found none). It was crazy overpriced, kind of busy, and didn't really have anything good anyway.

This CD player, for example, was twenty dollars! And look at that tag. Do you really think you could peel that off and switch it with another tag? All tags were like that, and every tag says on it what the item is.

I found a goodwill. It, too, was crazy overpriced. I bought nothing.
